This super simple, yet super cute, dress was $12. Can you believe it?!!!
As I’m sure you’ll know if you follow along on my blog, I’m a big fan of dressing like a million bucks whilst spending less than $20 🙂 I feel so proud when someone compliments my outfit and it costs no more than a cafe lunch.
Always consider adding accessories to either enhance or update your clothing. I almost always add a belt to my dresses because it makes them look so much more polished. Whenever I try a dress on in a store, I cinch it with my hands to see what it would look like with a belt. Of course, you can always take a belt into the change room with you if the store sells them. It’s always best to get dresses that work different ways, so you get a lot of wear out of them and don’t get bored.
I think this dress is sooooo much better with a belt. It pulls it in and, along with the flippy hem, gives it a 50’s vibe. It becomes more feminine and smart enough for office wear. Having said that, if you’re after a more casual look, leaving a dress like this loose and adding some ankle boots will create a sweet outfit that’s perfect for shopping or a coffee catch up with friends. Either way, polka dots are a fun and classic look that are always in style!
