As much as a love a bit of colour in my wardrobe, I think an all black ensemble is a downright fashion winner. Besides it being ultra flattering, black always looks polished. (Unless it’s a faded black t-shirt you wear to clean your house, that is!) Black is sophisticated and chic and suits all skin tones. A definite plus!
If you’re wearing all black, it’s sometimes nice to add some coloured or metallic accessories to break up your outfit. In this look, the addition of the black and gold statement belt and gold shoes really elevates the look to date night-worthy.
Accessories are an affordable way to update your wardrobe, particularly belts and jewellery. If I’m short on cash but need something special, I’ll head to the shops and hunt around for a bargain necklace or some fabulous earrings to go with an LBD that I already have in my closet. Even a new hair accessory like a turban or sparkly headband can add some much needed pizzazz to something I already own.
So, next time you want to look glamorous but you also need to eat for the week, hit up the shops for a cool statement piece that will be perfect for your favourite black ensemble.
