Inspirational activewear singlet

Inspirational activewear!

Inspirational activewear

I love inspirational sportswear. It motivates you to get out there and do something active!

This singlet was a $10 buy from Big W. I’ve also picked up a few quoted singlets and tees from Kmart and Target. Some of the slogans are really cool.

It may seem silly but I like to co-ordinate my activewear just as much as my everyday outfits, so for this look I’ve added plain black leggings and white runners with a touch of blue to match my striped singlet. The black cap and white hoodie match in with the basics so I’m good to go!

Whilst this is definitely a fashion blog, I’d like to take a moment to tell you how important I believe exercise is, for both the mind and the body.

I didn’t start exercising until I was 25 years old. I was certainly not a sporty child (Putt putt/mini golf was my choice of sport back then) but I realised as I got older that I needed to do something to keep the kilos at bay. I absolutely love food so I wasn’t about to give that up! I was gifted a gym membership from my mum for Christmas one year and, luckily for me, I got the exercise bug.

Whilst I was definitely motivated, exercise didn’t necessarily come easily. I wasn’t much of a runner back then, so I started slowly, alternating running with walking. I eventually worked my way up from a 20 min run/walk to now being able to run for two hours straight. I haven’t gone beyond that yet but I’m keen to do a marathon in the future. The point of this is to remind you that you have to begin somewhere. If you’ve never exercised before, start slowly and give yourself attainable goals. Don’t expect to run 5 kms on your very first run. It will be so hard, you’ll likely choose to never run again. The same goes for any other sport. Little steps lead to big achievements. Just get going.

As much as I exercise for my body, I also do it because it clears my mind and relieves anxiety. There is nothing better than popping on some music and losing myself in a good workout. I am a much happier person when I have been looking after myself, eating well and getting a good dose of exercise. Besides that, my clothes fit better 😉

  1. I wish my activewear would motivate me! 🏃🏻‍♀️ Sadly I find it very difficult to get out the door. It may be procrastination!!! 🌞

    1. I totally understand how you feel Mary. I think everyone has a tendency to procrastinate at times. I know I do! When it comes to fitness, the secret for me (apart from the inspirational activewear!) is a really good playlist. Find upbeat tunes that you love. I have a whole bunch of songs on my iPod that are just for running and exercising. They are very motivating. Also, don’t give yourself the opportunity for excuses. I think if you allow yourself to make an excuse, you will. I hope you find the inspiration you need Mary!
