I feel the same way about black and white stripes as I do about black and white checks or spots- they go with pretty much anything. There aren’t too many rules when it comes to fashion these days. Whilst I usually keep my outfits relatively simple, there’s nothing wrong with clashing your prints. Want to wear gingham with floral? Go for it. In fact, it’s actually considered pretty cool to wear a mix of prints. You should probably be a little careful when doing it though. You don’t want to look like you’re going to a costume party 🙂
As you may know from my previous posts, I love a bit of colour and don’t mind standing out, so I’ve put a very bright orange shirt with my shorts, so they really make a statement. As you can see, the shorts are SHORT so I’ve made sure my top is loose. It’s all about balance.
Long sleeve blouses in rayon, georgette or a similar fabric are wonderful pieces to have in your wardrobe. They’re great for all seasons. They are light enough for the warmer months and when the weather gets cooler, you can pop some layers underneath and throw on a jacket to keep you toasty. They also look smart and stylish. Bonus!
