Fashion Inspiration is everywhere!

Well, it’s certainly been a while since I’ve written a post. If you’re following my blog, I sincerely apologise for not being as prolific as I should be. I am forever writing blog posts in my head. Sometimes they just don’t make it to the computer, which is clearly not the point of a blog! The truth is, I don’t love computers. I really wish I did. Our world revolves around computers these days. Unfortunately I am the sort of person that gets restless sitting down in front of a screen, so I really have to make an effort when it comes to blogging. I have so much to say though, so I’ll improve in this area. That’s a promise!

So today’s post is about fashion inspiration.

Inspiration can come from many different places. In the street, on shop mannequins, in magazines, on television and, of course, online. Okay, so I guess I love computers in this instance 🙂 Inspiration can be found almost everywhere!

I love seeing a great outfit on someone and reproducing it. It’s particularly good if I already have similar items in my wardrobe and don’t have to go out and buy new things. (This is my thrifty side speaking here!) Having said that, sometimes it might just be a single item that I’m coveting, so I’ll hit the shops to find the closest thing I can to it.

To offer inspiration to others is the reason I do this blog, as well as my Instagram and Facebook accounts. Someone copying my outfit is the ultimate compliment for me 🙂 Even if you have a keen eye for fashion, it’s great to get ideas from other people. There will always be someone that offers a unique take on a style or trend.

I was inspired by Olivia Wilde at a taping of the Andy Cohen show for this look. Obviously I don’t have the gorgeous Alice+Olivia ‘Feminist’ skirt she’s wearing, so I had to make do with my favourite tulle skirt from Valleygirl. I don’t know the cost of her outfit but I would hazard a guess that my version is considerably cheaper. Okay, so mine’s not quite as nice and doesn’t have the political impact of Olivia’s, but I think I did a pretty good job of recreating it with low cost pieces that I already had in my wardrobe.  What do you think?

I hope you’re having a great week full of beauty and inspiration!
